Description:

The Intra-Oral Dental Assistant program at Westervelt College in Brantford, London & Kitchener, Ontario provides training for individuals looking for a rewarding career working in an oral healthcare setting. Intra-Oral Dental Assistants help dentists during examinations and treatments. They also provide direct client care, educate clients on the importance of oral health and perform basic laboratory duties and manage client records.

Upon completion of the program, graduates work as Level I Dental Assistants and can write their Level II exam through the NDAEB. After passing the exam, graduates can work as Level I or Level II Dental Assistants.

Additional Admission Requirements:
    - Ontario Secondary School Diploma or the equivalent, or if 18 years of age or over, you may apply as a mature student and write an entrance exam


    - Language proficiency is an essential skill required for all workers in Intra-Oral Dental Assisting


    - Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Immigration approval


    - Assessment interview to determine suitability for the Intra-Oral Dental Assisting program


    - Up-to-date Immunization Report


    - A clear criminal background check may be required by some placement hosts and employers


    - Applicants must have a genuine interest in a dental healthcare, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with people
